To create the Orchid as illustrated,the use of petal paste/gum paste is recommended.

These cutters can also be used to create a variety of cut out designs and fantasy flowers using a range of edible and non-edible materials.

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Roll out the paste on a non-stick surface or using comflour/icing sugar for dusting.

2.Mould a small piece of paste into a tear drop shape and attach to a wire Allow to dry.

3.To create the flower centre,cut out the lip/throat shape and thread the wire of the prepared tear drop through the centre.Wrap the paste around the teardrop and shape as required.

4.Cut out two wing shaped petals and insert a wire into the base of each petal.Allow to dry.

5.To assemble the orchid,arrange the wings around the centre,secure in place by binding together with floral tape.Cut out and thread on the triple shaped petal.

6.Colour as required.

TIP Additional detail can be added to the petals using a miniature modelling tool to create texture and a dog bone tool to soften and shape the edges.

NOTE Tools used with food products should be kept separate from those used with non-food materials e.g.craft clay.
